Abstract

We propose here to return to the fascination that Sparta exerted on the far right. Since the subject is vast, we will limit ourselves to the French and Ukrainian identitarian movements. Indeed, this reference has become a commonplace in this movement, sometimes discreetly, sometimes openly assumed. In order to make our case, we will structure our argumentation around three points: after returning to the long history of the Spartan theme in the French far right, we will analyse the uses made of it by the Identitarian Bloc and the small Ukrainian groups.
