Il Mediterraneo: luogo di dialogo intraculturale

Abstract

Through the studies of Braudel and Morin, the essay intends to present the Mediterranean as the physical, as well as geographical, place of the encounter between cultures, peoples, religions and identities that characterise our common humanity. Retracing the Mediterranean Colloquies – commissioned by Giorgio La Pira between 1958-1964 – the mare nostrum is defined as an authentic pathway to peace; the centre of a project for the unification of the world that through intracultural dialogue builds relational bridges and breaks down the walls of indifference.
