Promoting the blue economy in the Mediterranean region

Abstract

The transition to the blue economy is considered by the European Union as a factor of provision of the sustainable development of maritime economic activities. One of the regional directions of implementation of its principles is the Mediterranean sea. The European Union promotes the blue economy in the region taking into account the interests and capabilities of Mediterranean countries and individual international organizations. To date with the active participation of the EU in the Mediterranean region a political framework has been established for the development of various activities in this area
