Le Contre Colotès de Plutarque et son prologue

Abstract

An overview of Plutarch’s treatise and the analysis of its prologue allow to identify the main topics and the great choices which will structure the work in its wholeness: Colotes’ ignorance, Epicureans’ inconsistency, Plutarch’s attitude as clear-headed and fair judge, Epicurean lifestyle’s immorality. Therefore the prologue is indeed a text firmly structured and carefully conceived.
