Abstract

The aim of the analysis of the messages posted on the Romanian online forum Hotnews.ro, under the topic “I want to leave Canada for Romania” to describe the ways in which some of the participants perceive the cultural differences between them and Canadians and the ways in which Romanians living in Canada construct their own identity in reference to the Canadian identity. The analysis covers the time span of September 2008 to March 2010.
