Des savoirs en conflits : témoins et historiens
Abstract
This article is based on a case study about memory and history of Second World War in Switzerland. It addresses the issue of giving back past relaties by focusing on the confrontation between historians and witnesses. It shows that facts established by historians and testimonies of those who lived this period of history are not of same nature and do not necessarily agree. They can of course complete each other and enrich the perception and the understanding of the past. But they can also contradict, oppose, deny themselves. Also, the encounter between two types of knowledge can be very delicate.
