La Gazeta de literatura de México (1788-1795). Tránsitos entre periódicos novohispanos y de la metrópoli
Abstract
In New Spain’s press and some copies of the Spanish mainland’s press from the 18th century, there is evidence of links that show the movement of texts and debates from New Spain to the mother country. These connections are acknowledged in this article as « editorial strategies, » with methods such as excerpts from books crossing the Atlantic Ocean, with critical comments added as footnotes, or the news of emerging periodicals and scientific developments. It is not circumstantial to find this web of relationships, which suggests that those responsible of these strategies shared, to a greater or lesser extent, insterests and ideologies.
