Both at Athena’s and Apollo’s shrines two periboloi followed each other. The older one, made of “small polygonal masonry”, dates back to after the first sacred war. The second one, which encompasses a larger area, was built after the 548 conflagration, made of “large polygonal masonry” with curved joints. But more than half of Apollo’s shrine was at a later date rebuilt section by section. The extent and the dates of these restorations deserved to be reexamined. By reasoning on both periboloi, a new restitution of the South-East portion of the shrine can be achieved.
