État et dynamiques de la recherche en sociologie urbaine en Communauté française de Belgique
Abstract
The author attempts to provide a dynamic state of research in urban sociology in French-speaking Belgium. Four key points emerge in the late nineties and early two thousand ten. First, the research is largely influenced by the metropolisation process that affects relations to space in Wallonia and Brussels. Dynamics research is secondly affected by the evolution of the university as a result of rationalization driven by the Bologna reform, the emergence of doctoral schools and finally the integration of architecture in the university. Third, the research funding is increasingly territorialized: the links between the university, operational issues and actors are becoming stronger because of funding directed towards operational research or action research. Finally, in this context, three themes emerged: changing patterns of ways of life linked with hypermobility, the actors and their methods of intervention and the development tools for production and urban management.
