TİHOMİR CORCEVİÇ’İN “BİRKAÇ TÜRBE İLE HAKLARINDA ANLATILAN BAZI EFSANELER” BAŞLIKLI DERLEMESİ
Abstract
Ottoman domination, of over five hundred years in the Balkans left ineradicable traces in the culture, language, literature, and history of the nations of the region. Therefore, in research regarding the 14-20th centuries of the nations that resided in the Balkans touching Ottoman state, Turkish language, culture, and literature is inevitable, regardless of the point of view. Hence, Serbian ethnologist Tihomir Đorđević, alike other researchers working in the above mentioned fields, unavoidably touched upon Turks and human issues related to Turks. In this study, sections about tombs from the book series called Наш народни живот (Our Popular Life), which is Djordjevic’s most famous work, are discussed the chapters on tombs. In the fifth book of this series consisting of ten books, the chapter on tombs has been translated into Turkish. In the eighth and tenth books, selected oral narrations from the titles related to tombs are emphasized. In addition, Djordjevic’s biography and works are briefly mentioned. Both the body text and footnotes of the Turkish-translated study, contain valuable information that is not seen in Turkish sources about the field, as well as interesting oral narrations about the tombs and the people associated with the same. The study likewise includes the oral narrations about the tombs in Yugoslavia in the post-Ottoman period, as well as the oral narrations about the tombs within the borders of the Republic of Albania, respectively, Shkodër and its region. Since these oral narrations are mostly compilations of the author of this study, it should be interpreted that they do not claim to cover the entire Yugoslavia of the period.
