After their Balkan neighbors, the Albanians embarked in their turn on the struggle for the recognition of their nation, a sort of beginning of an Albanian national consciousness and the construction of a national awakening. Some Albanian intellectuals scattered in different countries are investing their energy in an identity building whose aim is to make the existence of a nation worthy of access to freedom and to be exempt from Ottoman influence. To this end, Albanian communities from outside played a vital role in supporting the national movement, and the emergence of publications contributed greatly to the awakening of a national consciousness.During our studies at Inalco, we were interested in the Albanian national assertion proposing an original study of a publication printed in Belgrade between 1902 and 1906: Albanija. Shkipnija é Shqiptarevét (Albania, Albania to Albanians) published in several languages.
