The incoherence in the formation of the yugoslavian state: a “dialogue” with Eric Hobsbawm’s book Nations and nationalism

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on the criteria and parameters that shaped the institutions and mindsets in international policies in the creation or idealization of candidates to national states throughout the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. In addition, examining in particular, the specifics of the idea and formation of the Yugoslav state, whose birth name was Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.
