Design, simulation and development of a magnetic levitation system (MAGLEV)
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present a methodology for designing MAGLEV systems based on finite element method simulations. Performing a series of simulations, varying characteristics of a coil were obtained parameters for the construction of a coil capable of generating a field of 0.0916 T. A closed loop system based on magnetic field measurement to power the coil was developed and an experimental magnetic field for levitation of 0.0811 T was obtained. From the simulation results it was possible to build a microcontrolled system capable to levitating a body of approximately 0.1 kg.
