In discussion groups and seminars the lecture content itself becomes the means through which students learn. The goals of small group work are to facilitate participation, communication and problemsolving, leading to the formulation of opinions, logical and critical thought. Group teaching requires skill and an awareness of the problems inherent in peergroup learning.
