Wang N, Feng Y, Xie J, Han H, Dong Q, Wang W. Cancer Manag Res. 2020;12:13285-13300. At the author’s request, we, the Editors and Publisher of Cancer Management and Research, have retracted the following article. Following publication of the article, concerns were raised about the duplication of images from Figures 5 and 7 with images from other unrelated articles. Specifically, The image for Figure 5G, HL-60, ZNF667-AS1 si+miR-206 inh, has been duplicated with the image for Figure 5d, H460, miR-520a control, from Xie Y, Xue C, Guo S, Yang L. MicroRNA-520a Suppresses Pathogenesis and Progression of Non-Small-Cell Lung Cancer through Targeting the RRM2/Wnt Axis. Analytical Cellular Pathology. 2021;2021: Article ID 9652420. https://doi.org/10.1155/2021/9652420. The image for Figure 7H, HL-60, miR-206 inh+NC, has been duplicated with the image for Figure 4H, HSC-1, TIMP3 si, from Yin S, Lin X. MicroRNA-21 Contributes to Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma Progression via Mediating TIMP3/PI3K/AKT Signaling Axis. Int J Gen Med. 2021;14:27-39. https://doi.org/10.2147/IJGM.S275016. In addition, Figure 5G, HL-60, ZNF667-AS1 si+miR-206 inh and Figure 7H, HL-60, miR-206 inh+NC, have been duplicated. When approached for an explanation, the authors were cooperative and provided some data for their study. However, the author’s explanation and the provided data did not sufficiently explain how the duplication of these images occurred and was unable to alleviate the journal’s concerns regarding the validity of the findings. As verifying the validity of published work is core to the integrity of the scholarly record, the authors requested to retract the article and the Editor and Publisher agreed with this. We have been informed in our decision-making by our editorial policies and COPE guidelines. The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
