Fruits and vegetables may contain besides nutrients also contaminants as a consequence of polluted environmental media (water, soil, air). Through this work organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) presence was monitored in soil and potato samples collected from Cluj - Bistrita-Nasaud region. In higher amount were detected p,p’-DDE and -HCH. Good correlation was observed between OCPs amount in soil samples and those in potato samples.
