The COVID-19 pandemic made adjustments in the direction and pace of «Ukrainian transit» – the process of adaptation of society and state to new conditions. Its influence here has its own specificity, will be even more pronounced, and the consequences will be even more ambivalent than in other «adults» and relatively prosperous European countries. The response to the pandemic will test the renewed Ukrainian power, its understanding of the political imperatives, and complete the formation of its face, which is still very uncertain. The article attempts, on the basis of objective indicators of economic development, the opinions of experts, the decisions taken, to understand the motives and assess the adequacy of preventive measures and their possible consequences, Identify and map some relevant trends for the country. The author believes that analysis of «Ukrainian transit» in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic can be useful for the Russian Federation and the European Union.
