Abstract
This paper seeks to problematize some of the tensions and contradictions found in the implementation of the socio family matriciality of the Unified Social Assistance System, which takes the family as a unit of public policy intervention. Based on bibliographic studies and analysis of secondary data, the study points to the strengthening of women’s accountability in family care and as the potential operator of the services that provide comprehensive protection, linked to care. It is concluded that there is a need to expand studies on masculinities and femininities in the implementation of social protection of social assistance of Brazilian families.
