PLAZMA NİTRÜRLEMENİN SERT METAL PLAKETLERDE SÜRTÜNME KATSAYISINA ETKİSİ
Abstract
Plasma (ion) nitriding is one of the widely used advanced surface hardening method applied especially to steels. It has been used for some components were used in the automotive industry, and in cutting tools manufacturing. Plasma nitriding has been particulary effective in improving their wear resistances and lives by improving surface hardnesses of these components and tools. It ıs known that hardness of cutting tools is most important parameter in metal cutting, and friction coefficient is coming after that. In this paper it is aimed to investigate the effect of different parameters of plasma nitriding such as nitriding temperature, nitriding time and gas mixture ratio on friction coefficient. A choosen type of an hard metal (cemented carbur) tool insert plasma nitrided at different parameters, and then friction coefficients were measured at same conditions and results were evaluated.
