Abstract It is essential to clarify the actual design specifications of buildings to plan future energy conservation measures. This paper focuses on the single‐purpose office buildings built in the financial year of 2018 and analyses the data on building envelope and equipment specifications from the calculation program to confirm compliance with the building energy code. This paper shows that the office buildings can be classified into five groups according to the evaluation index of the building energy code and identifies the standard design specifications of building envelope, air‐conditioning system, lighting system, and solar power generation for each group.
