A contemporary design vision of ablution spaces in mosques between necessity and environmental damage

This research concerned on studying the design of interior spaces of ablution places in mosques. As it considered one of the most important spaces in mosques, where ablution is performed before praying. However, this space is one of the most disturbing elements of the mosques, especially if it is not designed or used in a good manner. So, studying of design and environmental considerations of these interior places of ablution is highly required in a contemporary manner that meets the needs of worshipers by taking advantage from design thought for ablution places in old mosques. Also the conditions and regulations that determine the relationship between place of ablution and place of praying must be known and elements of it's interior design must be studied. The problem of research is: The deteriorating situation of ablution places in mosques, some of which are due to the lack of architectural and interior design in the provision of modern design solutions appropriate to the greatness of this worship, as well as the violation of environmental requirements resulting from the waste of water and excessive use of electricity. Thus, the research aims to : finding contemporary design and environmental solutions for the internal spaces of ablution places , applicable , in order to take care off the advancement of the mosque and society as a whole. Research importance: 1- Houses of God remain an example of cleanliness, purity and order , that will enable them to achieve tranquility for their pioneers, and wish them to come endurance for worship. 2- Reduce waste of electricity, water and improve re-use of it . 3- Provide the appropriate mechanism for ablution, especially for the elderly and the disabled
