Abstract

The article is devoted to a scrutiny of the Kalmyk theme in the context of the creative work of A.S. Pushkin. The Kalmyks are apprehended in the poets artistic consciousness from the aspect of the problem of freedom and rank high in his judgements on the role, the signifi cance and the perspectives of the development of the peoples of Russia.
