Ragione e ragioni: la politica tra passioni ed emozioni
Abstract
This paper wants to introduce politics as a result of dialectic between rational and ‘emotional reasons’. A rational politics – dedicated to the pursuit of happiness – arises from the interweaving of passions and emotions. Analyzing positive and negative emotions sets a connection between political action and intimate realms of person. This work resumes the Aristotelian idea of politics as a knowledge of proper acting for the common good. Through eudaimonia it’s possible to examine the human politics of Jacques Maritain and to consider it like a model of person who elevates herself and virtuously assists otherness, until she becomes ‘hero of happiness’.
