MODELLING OF WIND FARMS AND ANALYSIS OF EFFECTS OF WIND FARM IN TRANSMISSION SYSTEM

Abstract

In recent years, the energy demand in our country and world is increasing day by day in parallel with the population growth and the developments experienced in technology. Renewable energy resources are rapidly spreading all over the world due to the fact that they do not need any raw materials, the maintenance and operation costs are cheap, they cause no toxic gas emissions and they are never-ending. The maximum attention should be paid to the planning studies in the power system for the quality and continuous transfer of the generated energy to the end user. In this study, the wind power plants are modeled by using PSS/E program and the effects of these plants on the transmission system are analyzed in detail and solution recommendations are presented to solve the problems encountered.
