STEP-FAMILY AS A PHENOMENON OF MODERN SOCIAL LIFE

Abstract

The paper addresses the problem of step-families in Russia. The authors suggest an original typology and approaches to characterizing step-families of different types, suggest social and demographic characteristics of step-family couples, and analyze the surveyed couples’ social and family situation before a step-family creation.
