The relevance of the study in formulating the principles of valuation of intangible assets is substantiated. The uncertainty for the information environment and accounting risks are characterized. The analysis of the national regulatory framework on the valuation of the enterprise property is carried out and the legal and procedural inaccuracies that need eliminating in order to objectively display intangible assets are identified. The influence of the uncertainty of the information environment on the implementation of the principles of valuation of intangible assets is characterized, and the accounting risks arisen are identified. The list of principles of valuation of intangible assets in the context of reporting of sustainable development of the enterprise is added. The domestic and foreign regulatory framework for accounting of R&D expenditures and their relation to intangible assets is analysed. The article identifies the valuation principles to be applied to internally generated intangible assets. The prospect of further research is the consideration of the impairment of intangible assets in their valuation.
