AMÉRICA LATINA: a luta social pelo público na crise estrutural do capital
Abstract
This article highlights the historical importance of the new social struggle for public affairs and spaces in the countries of Latin America. It emphasizes the importance of political struggle and analyses the strategy of popular movements in Latin America, so that the construction of the public is not only subject of State - in strict sense, but also of civil societies in the region. The analysis is based on a review of the current situation in Latin America in which the new progressive governments seem to be taking back a new cult of masses of the State, the consequence of the success of economic and social policies. The complex criticai understanding of the capitalist State is an unsolved issue in Latin American societies, and it must be resolved not to give up politics but to lead politics to be the real space of the constitution of a new historical force which deepens popular participative democracy and contributes to radically transform the social and political relations.
