The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of increasing patience group training on self-efficacy and attitude of mothers with exceptional children. This study was a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest with a control group. The statistical population of the study includes all mothers with exceptional children in Mashhad، which was registered in exceptional education in Khorasan province. Questionnaires of patience، Domka self-efficacy and parents' attitudes toward exceptional children were used to assess the research variables. Pre-test was taken from two groups. The experimental group entered 10 sessions of patience training. No training was performed in the training group. After the sessions، both groups answered the questionnaire (post-test) again. Research data were analyzed using univariate analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and multivariate analysis of covariance (MONCOVA). The findings of the present study showed that patience training is more on self-efficacy and change of attitude، failure، hopelessness and shame and patience of mothers with exceptional children. Therefore, it is recommended that counselors and psychologists pay attention to patience training in family education programs and groups of parents of exceptional children.
