Robert Gloton (1906-1986) : un artisan de l’Éducation nouvelle dans l'enseignement public ?
Abstract
In 1945, Robert Gloton became an "atypical" inspector of primary schools and tried to influence the pedagogical methods of teachers in the districts for which he was responsible. An activist and then leader of the Groupe Français d’Education Nouvelle since 1950, his desire to bring the ideas of new education into public education requires the creation of groups of voluntary teachers who are in favour of these changes. In 1962, he undertook to set up a large-scale project in Paris by promoting le groupe expérimental de pédagogie active et fonctionnelle du 20e arrondissement. What is Robert Gloton's trajectory? What is the history of this pedagogical experience?
