Launching business in rural environment: Farm stay holidays "Nana", Noćaj

Abstract

Initiating and expanding business is a process which starts with defining business ideas and making related research, seeking opportunities in order to eventually raise funds along with finding partnerships, embarking on enterprise followed by business development. In rural environment, business opportunities are limited, qualified workforce is scarce, whereas networking and participating in local systems are less facilitated than in urban zones. Rural areas such as the one located around the farm of "Noćaj" are in the vicinity of the main domestic tourism markets, which is one of the assets for launching business enterprise in tourism. In addition, tourist demands are oriented towards whole some nutrition, cultural offer, short stays, creating opportunities for further development of farm stay holidays at "Nana" estate in accordance with the state policies and targeted measures for supporting the development of rural tourism within the tourist industry.
