El manuscrito inédito de O Principiño . Un texto fundacional de la literatura gallega traducida

Abstract

This paper addresses the first translation into Galician of Le Petit Princeby Saint-Exupéry (O Principiño, 1972). The novelty of our study is derived from having handled the manuscript version of the translation. In this paper, we provide a documentary analysis on the reasons that led to translate this work, but also on the translator behavior, the strategy and the procedures used in the transfer. We start from the assumption that the translator has to intervene to a greater extent in children’s texts than in a textfor adults and we want to confirm if such intervention has occurred in accordance with translation standards of the time.
