Introduction. The article is dedicated to Panteleimon Blonskyi, a representative of the Ukrainian social-democratic and national liberation movements in Podillya. The relevance of the research is justified by the need to study the history of social communities and people; to fill the Ukrainian biographical archive with unknown and little-known figures of the past and, through the person of the Ukrainian Social Democrat, to show the activity of this party among the peasantry. Purpose. The purpose of this article is to clarify the initial, Podilskyi period of life of P. Blonskyi as well as his activity among the peasantry. Results. It is found out that P. Blonskyi came from the nobility of Podilskyi province and belonged to that small part of it, which did not lose its national identity and considered its duty to carry out work aimed at national and social liberation of the working class of Ukraine. It is established that his social and political activity began in his student years, when he studied at the Medical Department of the University of Warsaw and was the Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian student community in Warsaw. The main attention is paid to the various activities of P. Blonskyi in the Podilskyi province in 1905–1907. During the development of the peasant movement, he actively worked on the unification of the peasantry in the All-Russian Peasant Union, an independent socio-political organization. During the elections to the State Duma, P. Blonskyi aimed voters at struggle for the democratization of the political system in the Russian Empire and the solution to the agrarian issue in the interests of the peasantry. It is also defined that Kamianets organization of the USDLP was formed in early 1906 and under the leadership of P. Blonskyi it managed to organize ten party cells during the revolution, mainly in rural areas, which numbered about 170 party members. The recognition of P. Blonskyi’s merits in his party activity was his election as a member of the Central Committee of the USDLP (March, 1907). Another important activity area of the Ukrainian Social Democrat, which is reflected in this article, was the consolidation of the Ukrainian national forces of Podillia and giving an organized character to the peasant movement, as evidenced by the record of the meeting in August 16, 1906. Conclusions. Panteleimon Blonskyi was a leading member of the USDLP in the Podilskyi province and directed his activities to organize the peasantry in the All-Russian Peasant Union. He aimed the farmers at the fight for the democratization of the political system in the country and solving the agrarian issue in their interests. P.
