Summary: There are few protocols available for DNA extraction from fungi. Here we present four complementary protocols for extraction of genomic DNA from fungi. We quantify the efficacy of extractions and compare eight species from five filamentous fungal genera, including both basidiomycetes and ascomycetes. These protocols should be useful for extraction of DNA from a variety of filamentous fungi.For complete details on the use and execution of this protocol, please refer to Conlon et al. (2021).
