The article follows the role, significance and importance of visual art education reflected through the pedagogical and artistic education process carried out within the Faculty of Arts and Design of the West University of Timişoara. It presents the historical chronology of the development of artistic education, the significant events that underlie the formation of the current Faculty of Arts and Design, and the importance of zonal multiculturalism that contributes to the aesthetic dimension of contemporary artistic education. Strengthening the artistic-pedagogical profile responds to the training needs of students, with an emphasis on the development of vision in the context of contemporary art, nationally and internationally, and to the skills required on the labour market. There is a specific culture for scientific research and artistic creation in the art education in Timişoara, aiming toM highlight the results of artistic creation and research through constant presentation in the academic art environment.
