MODERN STRATEGIES OF THE DIAGNOSTICS, SURGICAL CORRECTION AND PRE-VENTION OF CONGENITAL ANOMALIES IN NEWBORNS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of birth defects in newborns, which are widespread and ranked first among the causes of disability in children. Based on the results of literature and our own experi-ence, modern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of congenital anomalies in new-borns are presented. The article presents modern views on terminology, classification, main causes and mechanisms of development of birth defects in newborns.It is emphasized that the occurrence of ap-proximately 50% of all congenital malformations cannot be attributed to any cause. The necessity of improvement and wide introduction of prenatal diagnostics of defects as an effective noninvasive method of early diagnostics of pathology is substantiated. The positive experience of the Prenatal Con-silium of Dnipropetrovsk region is shown. The necessity of introduction of a complex of preventive measures at dirth defects, support of modern medical strategies and application of technically ad-vanced methods of correction of a defect are emphasized. Generalization of own experience and mod-ern approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of birth defects in newborns will be of great theoretical and practical importance for neonatologists who are engaged in the issues of early detection of congenital malformations and their treatment, and to facilitate the coordination of specialists' efforts in improving the effectiveness of prenatal diagnosis of congenital anomalies and reducing lethality.
