The author gives the overview of schooling and education of the population of Goran's ethnic community from 1918 until now. Gora (forest, woods) is an area at the slopes of Sar planina, Korab and Koritnik with few natural raw materials, where the education was given a great importance which had contributed to a part of inhabitants of the village of the Municipality Gora to acquire the highest academic titles from different fields. The population of the village of the Municipality Gora had always had a positive approach on the education, but Goranci (inhabitants of Gora) were mostly orientated themselves toward cattle breeding, earning money or continuation of family tradition in the past, did not educate themselves largely, so that they ended up their formal education mostly with the primary school what was the case with women in the past; on the other hand, in actual circumstances of social-cultural life and work and being aware of the needs for education, a greater number of Goranci is included in the education system in grammar schools, but there is an insufficient number of the ones enrolling the studies at the faculties and higher schools of education.
