Lohrasb's Behavior in Shahnameh and other texts of heroic poetry with emphasis on Shahnameh of 844 Teymouri preserved in the National Library of Paris
Abstract
Lohrasb is one of the mythical characters who has a completely different face in Avesta, Shahnameh and poetic poetic texts. In the ups and downs of his time, there are events that seem to have been caused by the decline of his family. In Avesta, Lohrasb and his son Goshtasb are mentioned; But among these two personalities, only Goshtasb becomes the owner of Kiani crown and reaches the kingdom, and Lohrasb has no role in the dynasty except being Goshtasb's father. The reason for this may be that the story of Lohrasb did not have a coherent form when compiling the main Yashtas of Avesta, and this has caused Avestan Lohrasb to find a completely different character from Lohrasb Shah in epic texts. Also, the close relationship between Lohrasb and Goshtasb in this story and the entanglement of the characters of these two people, may be the result of mixing mythical characters and their selfish integration, which according to the dynamic tradition of the eastern regions of Iran in a different way from Avesta, Shahnameh and other poems. Persian heroism has been transferred. In this article, in a descriptive-analytical method, we seek to answer the question why Lohrasb has a dual personality in Avesta and other Persian epic texts.
