Abstract

Days in the Diocese constitute an integral part of the World Youth Days. They take place within a country where the international meeting of the youth and the Pope takes place - they precede the main events. The first time this formula was applied was during the World Youth Days in France in 1997. The aim of this article is to present Days in the Diocese that took place in the Szczecin-Kamień Archdiocese in the week preceding the World Youth Days in Cracow in July 2016. For that purpose a preliminary archival search was conducted in the archives of Pastoral Department of Metropolitan Curia and in the Archdiocesan Centre of the World Youth Days. The article presents spiritual and organizational preparations for Days in the Diocese in Szczecin-Kamień Archdiocese and the program of the event, as well as participation of Polish and foreign youth in Days in the Diocese and the World Youth Days in Cracow.
