The aim of the research was to study the characteristics of the self-attitude in the selection of different variants of life. According to the hypothesis, the combination of indicators of the self-attitude and its nature can determine the choice of life variant. The study was carried out using test-questionnaire self-attitude of Panteleyev and authors' diagnostic techniques "Actual version of Life". As a result of empirical and statistical data analysis using Kruskal -Wallis H-criterion it has been proved that the characteristics of the self-attitude differ significantly for various life variants. A combination of self-attitude indicators can determine the life variant. The positive nature of the self-attitude determines the choice of the most effective in terms of adaptation options for life. The negative aspects of the self-attitude are linked with the life variant choice that enable to engage in a social system, but not effective in terms of self-realization in it.
