The use of Ferguson’s approach in lesser trochanter tumoral surgery
Abstract
Introduction: Ferguson's approach, Lowa's approach and Ludloff's approaches are used in children especially to reduce congenital hip dislocations. These approaches are anatomical and globally simple to perform. However, they are rarely described in tumor surgery. Case report: A 30-years old female patient suffered from an increasing hip pain. Imaging shows that it was a lesser trochanter tumor. The resection was performed using a Ferguson's approach. Conclusion: The Ferguson's approach in adults should be known, whereas it is used less and less in children, it's a simple and an anatomical approach.
