Source base of judiciary of Malopolska Wschodnia in state policy of Second Polish Republic: documents of archival institutions of Western region of Ukraine
Abstract
The goal of the research is to highlight source base of the judiciary of the Malopolska Wschodnia in the government policy of the Second Polish Republic on the example of archival documents in particular of archival documents of the Western region of Ukraine. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and specially research methods, including analysis, synthesis, scientific abstraction, chronological method, typological method and others. Methodology. The research uses general and special methods of scientific knowledge, including analysis, synthesis, scientific abstraction, chronological, typological, etc. The scientific novelty is that the author for the first time in modern Ukrainian historical science made analysis and systematization of original historical sources, archival documents, which highlighted full picture of political directions of state policy in the judiciary of the Second Polish Republic in the Eastern Malopolska, on ethnic-Ukrainian territory, that in the interwar period was part of the Polish state. Conclusions. The source material of archival documents plays a highly important role in disclosure the chosen issues because it comprehensively highlight conceptual approaches of judicial bodies of Malolpolska Wschodnia in the administration of justice on grounds of Ukrainian identity, Ukrainian nationality. The most complete reflection of the Polish directions of state and national policy in the judiciary of the Malolpolska Wschodnia of the Second Polish Republic on grounds of nationality, however, represents the State Archives of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, the most numerous trials of the interwar period in which individuals were charged on grounds of Ukrainian nationality are placed in the State Archives of the Ivano-Frankivsk Region exactly. The Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine in Lviv is no less important example in disclosing the activities of the judicial authorities of Eastern Malopolska because it contains archival documents about legal proceedings of the Lviv Appeal Court where the legal cases of all district courts of Eastern Malopolska were reviewed. The State Archives of the Rivne Region is the third by the saturation of court cases of the subject of research. What about others archives of the Western region of Ukraine, they are showing the systemic political oppression of ruling circles of the Second Polish Republic regarding national minorities, in particular, Ukrainians, but to a lesser extend.
