Self-efficiency in Computer and its Relation to the Attitude Towards e-learning among the Academic Staff at Al-Aqsa University

This study aimed at recognizing the levels of self-efficiency in computer and the attitude towards e-learning among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa University. The study used the descriptive approach. The two researchers have selected a random sample from the main three faculties in the university which consists of 141 academic staff classified as follows; 37 from the Faculty of Science , 48 from the Faculty of Education and 56 from the Faculty of Arts. The tools of the study are the scale of self-efficiency in computer and the scale of attitude towards e-learning. The study has concluded there is a level higher than medium in self –efficiency in computer among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa University. The level reached (%68.80) and there are no differences of statistical significance at the level of self-efficiency in computer among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa university attributed to the variables of faculty, experience, and interaction between them. The results have shown that the general attitude towards e-learning among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa university is a positive attitude and above the level of medium (%72.98) There are statistical differences in the attitude towards e-learning among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa university attributed to the variable of faculty, for the favor of the faculty of education. There are no differences of statistical significance in the attitude towards e-learning among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa university attributed to the interaction between the variables of faculty and experience. The results have also shown that there is a positive correlation, and statistically significant, between the self-efficiency in computer and the attitude towards e-learning among the academic staff at Al-Aqsa university. The study has recommended holding training workshops, and various training courses for the academic staff to raise the level of self- efficiency in computer, and developing their positive attitudes towards e-learning.
