DISTRIBUTION OF FREE-TIME AND INFLUENCE TO THE WELFARE OF ADMINISTRATIVE WORKERS IN A PUBLIC UNIVERSITY IN CHIHUAHUA-MEXICO
Abstract
The historically constructed social links between work and free time are a complex and dynamic matter according to social inequalities in a contemporary community. The objective of this research was to analyze working hours and the efficient administration of free time, as well as its effects on comprehensive health, work-family balance and the benefits of a leisure activity. The present work was of a mixed nature; the non-experimental, descriptive transectional design, carrying out a census of N = 290 trusted employees of a public university in the city of Chihuahua, applying an instrument with 43 items, developing the deductive method. A descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis was carried out, the results of which indicate that people want to have enough time to reconcile work-family, leisure and health. Only some, manage to have a successful work-family reconciliation and a leisure activity, generating positive conditions for employees, both emotionally and physically. However, there were limitations such as lack of time, money and as a social factor, gender equality in family obligations. The concept of leisure has a still negative perception in society, so the conclusion of this work is that there is no general education towards the administration of free time and leisure among trusted collaborators at the university, which influences in physiological balance, comprehensive health and human development.
