GEO-STRATEGIC PREMISES FOR CONTEMPORARY CONFLICTS
Abstract
This article presents the authors’ views on the specific impact of geopolitical and geostrategic factors, conditions and tendencies of the contemporary security environment. Moreover, it examines how geopolitical concepts and geo-strategic actions reflect on international relationships after the Cold War. The authors imply the idea that by developing a new strategy, the so called Selective Opposition strategy, many contradictions, frictions and conflicts could be decreased. Of course, the way of thinking needs to be changed in order to raise the hopes for a more peaceful world.
