Participation of bryophytes in restoration of devastated territories of sulphur deposits

Abstract

Peculiarities of content of plastid pigments and photosynthesis intensity of bryophytes were investigated on the territory of dump of sulphur deposits. Their dependence on the moss species specificity and microclimatic conditions on dump slopes was determined. Direct correlation between the index of СО2 assimilation and moisture content in moss leaves was showed. An important role of bryophytes in the processes of primary soil formation was found.
