The objective of this article is to present the works of art by Róbert Szabó Benke. I claim that Róbert Szabó Benke is probably the only representative of the Hungarian queer scene who has managed to create a very articulate way of expression, actively engaged in the critique of the Hungarian heteromatrix. I think that he has also succesfully crossed the borders of the hermetic circle of artists creating for the hermetic public. Szabó Benke has managed to work out an original language confronting the underlying heteronormative rules that constrain most of the artistic production in Hungary. His works show that the utopic potential of queer theory is very easy to translate into the language of art, and that it can have a powerful role in fighting marginalization of minority cultures.
