This paper proposes to consider some writer’s Facebook publications as a part of their work. It can be related to some literary genres of the Modernism, such as literary portrait, self-portrait, journal or daybook. In the case of Facebook publications, an interesting iconotextual dialogue is established, since many authors use this medium for narrative purposes (in some cases, we can find authentic micro-stories). Plus, the author’s discourse in Facebook comes to a level of extreme self-fiction, and comes close to an old literary aspiration: to create a Work that exceeds the sum of all the published works –that is, literally, a book bigger than life. The Facebook posts of José Luis García Martín —known as a poet, aphorist and critic—are taken into consideration as a clear example of this procedure.
