Epopeya y novela corta: la historia de Lijerea y Armeno

Abstract

The article aims to highlight features shared by epic and short novel in verse. On the one hand, it identifies some metric, linguistic and stylistic traces that the epic leaves in the short narrative in verse; on the other hand, it analyzes in detail the narrative structure and ideology of an episode of Cristóbal de Virués's Monserrate (as well as of the other digressions that surround it), in the balance between epic battles and novelesque vicissitudes.
