Institutions of Direct Democracy in the Construction of Communication Processes and Strategic Communications (Historical-Retrospective Parallels)
Abstract
This article focuses on a principles of functioning of institutions of direct democracy as the way of authorities and population communication in ancient states and Kievan Rus. From the point of view of the strategic tasks of the state, the institutions of democracy created opportunities to build specific communication technologies to legitimize power decisions through the activities of the people's assembly and the people's veche. Proposals for reforming the state or political system of ancient Athens or the Roman Republic were considered by the people's assembly. At the time of Kievan Rus communication with the population in the form of a people's veche in a similar way legitimized not only the decision of the authorities, but also the power itself.
