Background India is facing an evolving challenge of double burden of malnutrition. Over the past 20 years there is steep rise in consumption of packaged food items in the developing countries. The medical students should have a sound knowledge regarding the food labels present on the packaged food items. This will help them in consuming healthy diet and also advising appropriate diet to their patients.
